Objective / Problem
The objective is to design a wine label that captures the essence of a specific country and highlights its cities' unique characteristics. Each wine label represents a distinct city for which the country is renowned. The wine variety is influenced by traditional or popular drinks closely linked to each city’s culture and heritage.
Concept / Solution
Spain was chosen for its rich cultural heritage, with Barcelona, Valencia, and Seville selected as focal points. The unique characteristics of each city, along with their traditional and popular drinks, inspired the wine label designs. The concept aimed to capture the essence of these cities through history, traditions, and customs, reflected in both visual and verbal elements. Typeface selection ensured readability and cultural harmony, while layouts were optimized for maximum impact.
Process /
Researching Spain's vibrant cities—Barcelona, Valencia, and Seville—immersed me in their cultural tapestry, exploring landmarks, traditions, and cuisine. Each city's identity was matched with wines inspired by traditional cocktails. Sketching aided conceptualization, allowing experimentation with layouts and motifs. Digital design in Illustrator and Photoshop refined initial ideas into high-fidelity artwork, reflecting each city's culture. Mockups provided real-life evaluation of label beauty and utility, achieved through specialized software and layering label artwork on wine bottle photographs.
Value-significance /
I employed location, smart font/type use, illustrator, and photoshop to develop wine labels that visually appeal to consumers and express the product's cultural relevance and storytelling, improving its market worth.
